European Sauna Culture

Back in March of 2019, I explored Germany for a couple of weeks and went to this unique water park in a repurposed zeppelin airship hangar located in the former Bran-Briesen Airfield - 50 kilometers south of Berlin in Brandenburg, Germany.

The entire hangar provides a humid tropical environment, botanical gardens and wildlife, to pools, waterslides, and even an hot air balloon (and so much more). Their sauna area includes exotic architecture from Cambodia, Malaysia and Australia and offers areas like the Vishnu sauna, the Trimurti crystal world, the Gunung Mulu salt grotto or the Palaneri clay hut. I just visited for the day, but some book a hut or go camping to enjoy the resort for longer. If you are with family, it's definitely got something for everyone. If you ever are in Berlin, it's worth a drive south to experience this place for yourself.
